Automatica is an interactive installation by architect Simon Astridge in collaboration with B Corp accredited Italian tile manufacturer Italgraniti. Located at three Clerkenwell Design Week sites, visitors can vend a porcelain tile sample using a token from the Solus showroom. Automatica explores the interdependent relationship between machines and people and is inspired by Italgraniti’s automated Emilia-Romagna factory. The adapted machines by Arcitile, which customarily dispense food and drink, now nourish design. This playful activation, both nostalgic and futuristic, is emblematic of the spirit of Italgraniti.
Experience it from 20th–22nd May during Clerkenwell Design Week.
