Simon Hamilton
Simon Hamilton is a London born interior designer, lecturer and careers mentor. His experience as a creative, spans more than three decades. After working for several practices as a freelance designer, he set up his first interior design consultancy in 2002. He now runs Simon Hamilton Creative with multiple areas of activity within the creative sector. As a visiting lecturer for The Interior Design School, The Royal College of Art and The University of The Arts London, Simon works directly with a variety of design educators.
He is also a consultant and avid campaigner for diversity and inclusion across the industry. In this capacity, he works closely with the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) as Committee member and the University of Plymouth for their Equality and Diversity initiative: The Gateway Project. He also volunteers for United in Design as their Resource Hub Manager and provides supporting services for their Apprenticeship Programme.
In February Simon hosted the Surface Design Show Awards 2022 and is a jury member for the DNA Paris Awards 2022, in addition to being a Steering Group member for the Cockpit Arts and the New Craftsmen Award. As a keynote speaker and presenter, Simon continues his industry activities by regularly participating in The London Design Festival and Clerkenwell Design Week (CDW). This year alone, he will be taking part in 4 events over the 3-day festival of CDW. In Spring 2022 Simon became a patron of the Design Museum London to support the industry and celebrate the value of design in everyday life.
