The Great Indoors Podcast
Fancy some gold wallpaper? Kate and Sophie consider the interiors furore around Boris and Carrie's lavish refurb and ask if John Lewis is really the stuff of nightmares... Designer Simon Hamilton gives an optimistic update on the progress of initiatives to encourage diversity in design. And in the Style Surgery a listener is planning to upcycle her kitchen - but is it worth it?
Design for Diversity
Design for Diversity is an initiative launched on 18th June 2020, by Kate Watson Smyth & Rukmini Patel. The three-point Pledge covers, Visibility, Opportunity and Accessibility and is a first step to working towards a more diverse design industry, giving brands, businesses and bloggers a guideline on areas they can work on. CDW is delighted to sign and support the pledge.
ICON 204: Summer 2021
‘Grow’ is the theme of ICON's Summer 2021 issue, which explores design and architecture’s relationship to nature – from Studio Roosegaarde’s light installation helping crops grow in the Netherlands to Vietnam’s small-scale biophilic architecture. Phil Roberts explores the disconnect between architecture’s extravagant visions for urban farming and the reality of community-focused projects on the ground, while Harriet Thorpe meets pioneering agrowaste designer
Mae-ling Lokko.
OnOffice The Home Issue
The OnOffice Home Issue delves into what the homeworking revolution means for the future of our workplaces. Is remote work changing the world of work forever? How can businesses create a sense of connection, belonging and ‘home’ at work, and why does it even matter? From the benefits of the 4-day work week to the power of community gardening and how the recent remote work boom is reshaping our countryside and cities, OnOffice 155 reveals the value of belonging at work. Cover designed by Lois O'Hara.
