Prototypes of the stool were designed during the same period as the Sydney Opera House and carry the same inspiration Utzon took from nature coupled with maritime influences from his childhood. The stool uniquely presents the organic shapes which are distinct in the shape of the opera house.
While decorative in appearance, the stool is deceptively comfortable and stands as a testament to Utzon's rare ability to distil complex organic shapes into functional forms.
Celebrating Utzon’s creativity and unique talent to unfold distinct shapes in architecture with a sculptural stool, it exudes an extrovert playfulness in its fascinating appearance.
