Silver Moon Kaiseki 21
The skills of the Japanese metal workers, the alchemy of metallurgy, folding and beating metal to create art works such as Samurai swords. In nature the colours created on the surface of the moon during a lunar eclipse, turning the silver grey surface to warm tones of gold and copper
Materials.
We have created our discs from cold cast metal, hand sculpted on board.
Fine metal powder of brass, copper and bronze are combined with water-based resin creating a paste that cures over 48 hours to form a metal surface.
The surface of the disc is covered with the cold cast metal using palette knifes, brushes and specially created texture combs to gently sculpt surfaces, creating highs and low areas of texture. After curing the disc is polished to the required levels of sheen & high shine, with a final coat of wax to seal the surface.
